Travel Photography | Scotland and London Landscape Photography

Two weeks ago, I had just landed in the UK, tired and excited with a list of things I wanted to do.  My siblings and I had tickets to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (which was out of this world- though sadly no photos- have to #keepthesecrets) and we decided to plan a vacation around the play.  We spent some time in London and Edinburgh and also a lot of time on the train 🙂  I was also fortunate enough to shoot an engagement session in London, but that will be in a different blog post.

This was the first time I had taken my camera gear over seas, let alone on an airplane.  Now, if I am being honest, I don’t really like landscape photography.  I like shooting people, and sometimes landscape just doesn’t seem like a “subject”.  But I’m on this new freelensing kick, and that really helped me to better appreciate landscape photography.

The Barn at Hidden Acres Wedding Photography | Hazley and Tyler | Bloomsburg Wedding Photography

Bloomsburg Wedding photography_1680
The look on Tyler’s face when he turned and saw Hazley for the first time during their first look is not one I will easily forget (and guess what— you can see it below!). Written all over his face was the deep love he felt for his bride coupled with sheer amazement at how freaking AMAZING she looked. Just moments before, Hazley was inside the farm house completing the finishing touches to her ensemble, having just been showered with gifts from the man waiting for her outside. This was it! This was the start of the day she had been planning for months.

When I first worked with Hazley and Tyler in the fall for their engagement session, it felt like we three had been transported someplace far far away. Everything was still and quiet and the sunlight was golden and we didn’t have a care in the world. We sat in a field on the hill and Tyler played his guitar and sang to Hazley while I snapped away. I’ve never experienced such a calm session with two people who are just so excited to have found one another in this world. I knew from that moment that their wedding would be pretty amazing. And I wasn’t wrong.

Hazley and Tyler were married at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Bloomsburg and their reception was at The Barn at Hidden Acres. Now I have done a lot of barn weddings and this barn is my favorite aesthetically. It looks like a barn! Gaps between planks, rustic charm- mix in the beautiful white drapes, amazing florals by The Details Matter, and of course a beautiful couple and all of their friends, and it makes for one smashing party.

I cannot express how exciting this wedding was for me because Hazley and Tyler really let me have my say and direct them towards the best photo moments. During the reception, we slipped out to a field adjacent to the barn and captured some of my all time favorite wedding photos. OF ALL TIME. They kissed and danced and laughed and enjoyed the fact that this was, indeed, their wedding day. I am so very excited to share some of my favorite moments from their day.

Philadelphia Fine Art Nature Photography | Freelensing | Allie Skylar Photography

bloomsburg-wedding-photography-pump-house-b&b_0070I get asked a lot about why I chose to become a photographer.  The more I think about it, I never really chose it at all.  I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.  Sometimes the reason isn’t immediately clear, and it can be really hard to be patient, but trust me, in your deepest darkest moments, there is always a reason waiting to be seen.
