Alright, so as y’all know, I spend my days photographing weddings and engagements and the occasional Pennsylvania family.  Rarely, ever so rarely, do I ever photograph newborns because quite frankly they can be terrifying.  Leif Claus, however, could teach all the other babies a thing or two.

But let’s take a walk down memory lane…. Leif’s parents, Morgan and Tyler, just so happen to be the first wedding couple I ever photographed.  EVER.  Don’t believe me?  Here is proof.

Since then, Morgan and I have taught together for 4 years and become the best of friends.  Last year, we stood by the copier in the cafe as she cancelled our ice skating and lunch plans and blurted out that she was pregnant, and I knew that she and Tyler would be the most amazing parents.  Leif has a lifetime of kitty cuddles, Harry Potter read alouds, gluten free food, and unparalleled love ahead of him.  Here are some of my favorites from his August newborn session! Sunbury Wedding Photography | Whispering Oaks Wedding | Malia and Chris

There is a certain love for Autumn that the northeast has.  The colors are vibrant, the air has a crisp, and the light is a constant golden color.  This perfect trio has led to Autumn, and October in general, becoming the most sought after wedding month, with couples praying for a day as gorgeous as the one Malia and Chris snagged.

Malia and Chris were married atop rolling Pennsylvania hills at Whispering Oaks Vineyard in Sunbury, PA.  The muted blue cloudless skies stretched for miles as far as the eye could see, but all eyes were on the happy couple.  Chris dashed away tears as he saw Malia, radiant as ever, walking towards him.  When the sun was setting and guests were settling in for dinner, I asked Malia and Chris if we could sneak outdoors for a few more photos.  Chris responded that he probably isn’t going to remember the food, but he will want to remember running through the vineyards with his new wife in the last sun kissed moments of their wedding day.

The party celebrating Mr. and Mrs. Stroh went well into the night under a super full moon. Love and laughter filled the halls as this truly unforgettable wedding became one of my favorites of 2016.

Destination London Engagement Photography | Tineka and Alex

Destination London Engagement photography_1849

I first met Tineka when we both worked at the same pre-school 7 years or so ago.  We quickly became friends as we navigated the waters of young adulthood.  I adored her strong independent nature (Beyonce who?) and the way she could light up a room with her laughter.  Sadly for me, 6 years ago Tineka followed her dreams to London, where she eventually met and fell in love with Alex.  With her upcoming fall wedding back in the US, it only made sense for their engagement to take place along the banks of the city where they fell in love.

Shooting a destination engagement session  in London was an amazing experience.  The lights, the colors, the people- it’s a city unlike any other and if I could shoot there all day every day, I would.  We started our shoot at Somerset House along the River Thames, and then walked the streets along the banks stopping anywhere that caught our eye.  It was a Sunday morning, so most of the city was still sleeping, which made the shoot feel even more intimate.  Tineka and Alex now live in Geneva, Switzerland, so we made sure to hit up a few spots that are quintessentially London.

I can’t imagine a better way to spend a morning while abroad.  I am so happy to have been able to catch up with these two love birds and to capture some special moments in their lives.  Check out more below! Continue reading “Destination London Engagement Photography | Tineka and Alex” →
