There’s an area in my hometown of Bloomsburg back behind the mall that has a road called Dahl Road.  Growing up, I knew a few people who lived on that street, and I remember their houses hosting the most interesting property.  Lakes and woods and old barns.  Coupled with the fact that the name of the street itself rustled up thoughts of one of my favorite authors, Roald Dahl, I imagined that growing up on secluded Dahl road was a recipe for an exciting childhood.  When Breanne and Taylor were planning for their engagement session, they asked if we could shoot at Brianne’s parent’s house, located on the one and only, Dahl Road.

As I pulled up, I was greeted by a very friendly black cat, blooming flowers, and a quiet lake.  That evening, we hopped some creeks, danced in the golden sunset, and Breanne and Taylor made cuddling in a leaky row boat look incredibly dreamy.  We even had a chance to capture their personalities with some off beat photos. I am so excited for their wedding next year, water slides and all! Continue reading “Rustic Bloomsburg Engagement Photography | Breanne and Taylor | Allie Skylar Photography”

Columbia County Twin Bridges – East & West Paden – Wedding | Amanda + Mark

bride and groom portraits at columbia county twin bridges

Summer always seems to be endless, dripping sweat and humidity lingering, and then suddenly, there is “that day”.  The air changes, the sun is more angled, and there is a crunch underfoot as you walk.  This is possibly my favorite day of the year.  Autumn is such a luxury, with colors and scents and warm cozy clothing.  This year, “That Day” just happened to be Amanda and Mark’s wedding day.

If you’ve grown up in Pennsylvania or the North East, covered bridges are not at all unfamiliar.  And what’s more, they become an iconic landmark once Autumn hits.   Amanda and Mark were married at Twin Bridges- East and West Paden, over the calm Fishing Creek.  The rustic red wood, sunlight streaming through the cracks, was the perfect backdrop for their travel themed nuptials.  The narrow bridges were packed with friends and family which speaks volumes about how much Amanda and Mark are loved.  I’m not sure I’ve ever seen Amanda and Mark so happy!  A smile lit their faces the entire day!

We traveled through Bloomsburg, stopping at the fountain for a quick twirl to show off Amanda’s dress, and then continued the celebrations at the Pine Barn Inn.  Now….. I have seen so many beautifully decorated and themed weddings, but Amanda outdid herself!  She perfectly executed the travel theme, from the luggage tag place cards, to the globe guest book, inspiration was everywhere.  And as always, the lovely Pine Barn Inn made the night effortlessly magnificent.

I cannot wait to share the entire gallery with Amanda and Mark, but for now, a preview will have to do!  Congratulations and all my love! Continue reading “Columbia County Twin Bridges – East & West Paden – Wedding | Amanda + Mark”
