Love Park Wedding | Tony and Julia | Philadelphia Wedding Photography

A romantic Love Park Wedding. Can you imagine?

Picturing the ruby red statue in the heart of the city, with City hall to it’s front, and a clear view down Ben Franklin Parkway to the Art Museum at its back, I can hardly think of a better spot to say “I Do”. Getting married at love park under the LOVE statue was something I thought to be impossible, until Tony and Julia reached out about their wedding. Love Park hosts Wedding Wednesdays, and it just so happens, Julia and Tony got a spot!

If you have ever tried to get a picture with the LOVE statue, you will know that there is usually a line at least 10 deep. To my joy, weddings at the Park come with red velvet ropes, keeping excited passersby just out of frame.

Julia and Tony had a pretty public engagement on the stage of Kimmel Center during a Valentine’s Day performance (check out the sweet moment here! ). They are both musicians in the Philadelphia Orchestra, bringing beauty to the city, so it was only fitting that the city provide some beauty for them on their wedding day.

Though I only spent a little over an hour with Julia and Tony for their elopement, I had so much fun getting to know them. We traipsed around city hall to the calls of “Congratulations!” from all who passed by, snapped some photos, and then they were off to celebrate in some big ways. Check out some of my favorite moments below!

First Korean Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia | Melody and Jordan | Ambler, PA, Wedding Photography

  1. Whether they were walking hand in hand, saying their “I Do’s”, or kissing under Melody’s Cathedral length veil, the radiant smiles never left Melody and Jordan’s faces.  Their beautiful Korean-Canadian-American wedding at the First Korean Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia was a ceremony that unite two people and the families that love and support them.  It was the perfect mix of tradition and progression for two people who met in a not so traditional way.

Our day began at the beautiful Camp Hill Estate in Fort Washington, PA.  You could get lost in the endless halls and rooms, each with its own charm.  The weather was most perfect, and jitters were minimal as Jordan turned to see Melody for the first time.  Families from across the world gathered as Melody and Jordan declared their love for one another, and advice and well wishes carried the bride and groom through the night.

I couldn’t be happier to have been able to share in this day with these two very special people! Continue reading “First Korean Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia | Melody and Jordan | Ambler, PA, Wedding Photography”

La Massaria at Bella Vista Wedding Photography | Laura and Mike | Gilberstville Wedding Photography

bridal details at la massaria at bella vista in Gilbertsville pa

The most dreamy orange sun hung low in the sky as Laura and Mike walked hand and hand towards the horizon at La Massaria at Bella Vista.  As their wedding day was wrapping up, they stepped away from the crowd of dancing loved ones and basked in the glow that surrounded them; the glow that makes your cheeks hurt from smiling; the glow of being just married.  I’m not a believer in perfection, but Laura and Mike and their wedding day— it was pretty close.

La Massaria at Bella Vista in Gilberstville was the perfect location for Mike and Laura’s ceremony and reception.  The rolling greens, the rustic barn wood and stone, and of course the amazing food (y’all, there was a potato bar with pierogies).  Soft details and pastel colors paired perfectly with the rustic setting.  As we were photographing details (and eating pierogies) I noted to Elizabeth that this was one of the smoothest weddings we had ever photographed.  Laura and Mike are so loving and calm and they didn’t seem to have a single nervous flutter about them.  We joked and laughed throughout the day and at times I forgot I was working.

I am so excited to wrap up this gallery.  Laura and Mike, thank you for having me photograph your day!  it was more than I could have dreamed of! Continue reading “La Massaria at Bella Vista Wedding Photography | Laura and Mike | Gilberstville Wedding Photography”

Gulph Mills Golf Club Wedding | Whitney and Jake | Philadelphia Wedding Photography

Perfect spring weddings are always accompanied by a few things- rain drizzles, light and airy colors, and smiles that reach the ears.  Whitney and Jake had all 3 and so much more for their Gulph Mills Golf Club Wedding.  They said their “I Do’s” in one of the most breathtaking churches I have been in, Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church.  The dark vaulted ceilings and stained glass speckled walls set the stage for the elegant wedding Whitney and Jake had planned.

I could not have dreamed of a better day for Whitney and Jake.  Everything from the food to the entertainment to the dancing at the Gulph Mills Golf Club was seamless.  The dance floor was never empty, especially when Whitney played “Shout” in tribute to her father.  You could feel the floor bouncing as everyone jumped and yelled in unison.

I couldn’t be more honored to have been a part of this day.  I could go on and on, but I am not a writer, and I feel my photos tell a better story.  Enjoy some of my favorites! Continue reading “Gulph Mills Golf Club Wedding | Whitney and Jake | Philadelphia Wedding Photography”

University of Pennsylvania Engagement Session | Melody and Jordan | Book Store and Coffee House Engagement session

bookstore engagement city in university city philadelphia

No matter how many Philadelphia engagement sessions I photograph, I never get bored.  Each couple has their own story and each session has it’s own set of challenges and opportunities.  When Melody and Jordan discussed with me their thoughts of having their engagement session in a book store or coffee house, my heart soared!  Literally my two all time favorite pastimes are reading and drinking coffee.  Luckily, if you find a good bookstore in Philly, chances are there’s a coffee shop a stones throw away.

We started their session at House of Our Own Books on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.  If you are searching for a unique book store, go here!  It’s an old Victorian house filled to the brim with books, new and old.  We explored 2 floors of twisted hallways and towers of novels, all the while having the loveliest chat with the owners.

We strolled through campus and stopped for some coffee and tea before finishing our session in the most glowy light.  Everything aligned perfectly, from the mild temperatures to the empty campus (Hello spring break!) to Melody and Jordan being serenaded by a marching band.

Melody and Jordan are getting married this coming Saturday. Their love for travel, people, and of course, each other, ties them together and I cannot wait to celebrate with them!
