  1. Whether they were walking hand in hand, saying their “I Do’s”, or kissing under Melody’s Cathedral length veil, the radiant smiles never left Melody and Jordan’s faces.  Their beautiful Korean-Canadian-American wedding at the First Korean Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia was a ceremony that unite two people and the families that love and support them.  It was the perfect mix of tradition and progression for two people who met in a not so traditional way.

Our day began at the beautiful Camp Hill Estate in Fort Washington, PA.  You could get lost in the endless halls and rooms, each with its own charm.  The weather was most perfect, and jitters were minimal as Jordan turned to see Melody for the first time.  Families from across the world gathered as Melody and Jordan declared their love for one another, and advice and well wishes carried the bride and groom through the night.

I couldn’t be happier to have been able to share in this day with these two very special people! Continue reading “First Korean Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia | Melody and Jordan | Ambler, PA, Wedding Photography”

La Massaria at Bella Vista Wedding Photography | Laura and Mike | Gilberstville Wedding Photography

bridal details at la massaria at bella vista in Gilbertsville pa

The most dreamy orange sun hung low in the sky as Laura and Mike walked hand and hand towards the horizon at La Massaria at Bella Vista.  As their wedding day was wrapping up, they stepped away from the crowd of dancing loved ones and basked in the glow that surrounded them; the glow that makes your cheeks hurt from smiling; the glow of being just married.  I’m not a believer in perfection, but Laura and Mike and their wedding day— it was pretty close.

La Massaria at Bella Vista in Gilberstville was the perfect location for Mike and Laura’s ceremony and reception.  The rolling greens, the rustic barn wood and stone, and of course the amazing food (y’all, there was a potato bar with pierogies).  Soft details and pastel colors paired perfectly with the rustic setting.  As we were photographing details (and eating pierogies) I noted to Elizabeth that this was one of the smoothest weddings we had ever photographed.  Laura and Mike are so loving and calm and they didn’t seem to have a single nervous flutter about them.  We joked and laughed throughout the day and at times I forgot I was working.

I am so excited to wrap up this gallery.  Laura and Mike, thank you for having me photograph your day!  it was more than I could have dreamed of! Continue reading “La Massaria at Bella Vista Wedding Photography | Laura and Mike | Gilberstville Wedding Photography”

Gulph Mills Golf Club Wedding | Whitney and Jake | Philadelphia Wedding Photography

Perfect spring weddings are always accompanied by a few things- rain drizzles, light and airy colors, and smiles that reach the ears.  Whitney and Jake had all 3 and so much more for their Gulph Mills Golf Club Wedding.  They said their “I Do’s” in one of the most breathtaking churches I have been in, Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church.  The dark vaulted ceilings and stained glass speckled walls set the stage for the elegant wedding Whitney and Jake had planned.

I could not have dreamed of a better day for Whitney and Jake.  Everything from the food to the entertainment to the dancing at the Gulph Mills Golf Club was seamless.  The dance floor was never empty, especially when Whitney played “Shout” in tribute to her father.  You could feel the floor bouncing as everyone jumped and yelled in unison.

I couldn’t be more honored to have been a part of this day.  I could go on and on, but I am not a writer, and I feel my photos tell a better story.  Enjoy some of my favorites! Continue reading “Gulph Mills Golf Club Wedding | Whitney and Jake | Philadelphia Wedding Photography”

Tana and Bart’s McCloone’s Pier House Wedding | Long Branch Wedding | Allie Skylar Photography

light and airy NJ wedding photography at ocean place resort and spa

All in all, 2017 was amazing.  I had some of the best weddings, worked with the most amazing couples, and grew in a way I never thought possible.  The end of the wedding season was an all out sprint, with the addition of family sessions and trying to balance some sort of personal life (hahaha yeah right…).  I can’t imagine a better place to spend the last wedding of the year than the beach.  Sure, maybe not when it’s freezing, but as far as a state of mind, it was the ideal place to wind down.  So thank you Tana and Bart…. not only for being two of the kindest people, but for giving me the opportunity to enjoy the magic that only the ocean can give.

Due to the early cold that hit the shore in November, Tana and Bart opted (wisely) for an indoor wedding, portraits and all.  Their first look was in the Ocean Place Resort, on the Mezzanine high above onlookers.  We roamed the halls of the resort and found tucked away spots for portraits, never lacking any light on the gloriously bright day.  I’m not sure if I have ever seen two people so effortlessly happy!  Looking at their photos, I can almost hear Bart and Tana giggling.

After portraits, we hopped down the boardwalk (hopped…. haha….. battled the gale force winds!) to McCloone’s Pier House for the ceremony and reception.  McCloone’s Pier House in Long Branch is one of my favorite wedding venues!  It sits out over the sand, reaching towards the Atlantic, surrounded by some of the nicest strip of boardwalk New Jersey has to offer.  They have an effortless way of bringing the beach indoors, down to the littlest detail.

I’m pretty sure the glass windows were vibrating as Tana, Bart, and their loved ones danced and celebrated.  A nightcap with pizza and faces tired from smiling, and the last wedding of 2017 is going down as one of the best.

Here are some of my favorites!
