Magnolia Gardens Elopement| Tristan and Jennifer | Philadelphia Elopement Wedding

Philadelphia Summer Weddings

Tristan and Jen knew they wanted a quiet, intimate wedding with just their closest friends and family. The Magnolia Garden in Old City Philadelphia was the perfect place, filled with beauty, charm, and history. IF you are looking for a secluded place in the heart of the city, just steps from Washington Square Park and Independence Hall, then look no more!

After a few weeks of heavy rain, we were treated to a calm and cool sunny evening in the city. As Jen walked down the aisle in her Belize dress from BHLDN, the sun was sinking low behind the city. The ceremony was presented in both English and French, as Tristan is French-Canadian, and in that moment, I realized JUST HOW BAD my French is. Oh well 🙂

After the exchanging of rings and a first walk down the aisle as husband and wife, we hit the city for portraits in some of the best spots Philly has to offer. We strolled through Washington Square Park, past the crowds of tourists at Independence Hall, and through the streets.

One of the best things about having your wedding portraits in the city is the overwhelming joy shared by strangers. You cannot go 5 feet without being congratulated by passersby. It’s really quite wonderful and I love seeing a city come together with such love!

This wedding was a dream. While I love a big wedding, I have such a soft spot for intimate ones (honestly it would be my pick hands down!).

Here are some of my favorite photos from the day!

Sarah and Virgil’s Longwood Gardens Engagement Session | Kennett Square Engagement

korean bride and groom pose in the halls of longwood gardens wearing their traditional hanboks

Spring at Longwood Gardens is magical. By the time spring rolls around, we are all craving any sign of warmer weather, and Longwood Gardens knows how to deliver. Sarah and Virgil are the dream couple to work with! Not only were they beyond excited about their photos, they were open to ideas, spoke up when they saw a spot that was interesting, and brought along an entourage to keep them looking flawless. Oh and I mean they’re also incredibly kind and so so madly in love. And fun. And cute! I could go on but just trust me.

I’ve photographed engagement sessions at Longwood Gardens plenty before, but it’s never been as deliciously empty as it was for this shoot. Maybe it’s because it was a Friday or maybe due to the rain, but we had the place to ourselves. Dancing in the conservatory, running through the hallways- not a soul to judge! Sarah and Virgil chose to wear traditional Korean Hanboks and now I’m convinced they are the most comfortably elegant clothing option that exists.

I could go on and on about this session and how much I love it, but why don’t I just show you? Enjoy!

The Columbia Station NYE Wedding | Kristen and PT | Phoenixville Wedding Photography

romantic greenhouse wedding at otts exotic plants in phoenixville pa

Most people wouldn’t understand the joy that comes with photographing and NYE wedding. As the clock strikes midnight, the magic of the year, the joy of the day, and the promise of the future create photos with even more meaning. It’s a day of love, as all weddings are, but there’s just a bit more magic in the air.

Kristen and PT’s NYE wedding at The Columbia station in Phoenixville was so carefully crafted by a team of talented vendors. When I walked into their reception, I exclaimed that it looked like a wedding you would find in Tuscany. Cascading flowers, glowing candles, and lush greens created a warm and cozy atmosphere.

Believe it or not, the biggest blessing of the day was torrential rain. Leading up to the wedding, I’ll admit I was a bit nervous. Kristen had carefully selected several outdoor locations for her portraits. Once we realized the rain was a certain factor, I suggested she see if there were any greenhouses in the area. As luck would have it, Otts Exotic Plants was a few miles away, and thus provided a beautiful backdrop and protection from the elements.

Kristen, PT, and their team worked so hard to create a lavish yet fun night for everyone. I started 2019 photographing kisses and cheers and joy, and I believe the rest of 2019 will be a reflection of those first moments.

Phoenixville Brewery Engagement Session | Carli + Jack | Philadelphia Engagement Photography

couple engagement session at roots down brewing company in Phoenixville PA

An ice cold beer, beautiful sunlight, and the most beautiful summer evening helped make Carli and Jack’s engagement session one of my favorites.  we started our evening at Roots Down Brewing Company in Phoenixville, PA, before hopping over to Valley Forge park to catch the sunset.  Roots Down let us roam free in the brewery, which happens to be an atmosphere I’ve never shot in before.  Carli and Jack toasted to their love, which is just about the cutest thing ever.  Jack always knows how to make Carli truly smile, and Carli always knows exactly how I want her to pose with Jack- except it’s not a pose for them- it’s natural.

After the brews were downed, we found ourselves strolling through sun kissed fields at Valley Forge Park.  A quick stop at my favorite abandoned green house and “hobbit door”, and it was a wrap.  I am so excited for this wedding next year!  It seems like a lifetime away, but I know it’ll be here before we know it.
