Newtown Square Family Photography | Chung Family | Ridley Creek State Park

Two weeks ago, after a few rain reschedules, I had one of the most enjoyable family sessions ever.  The Chung family scored one of the most beautiful days with glowing sun and unseasonably warm breezes.  We explored Ridley Creek State Park, discovering hidden paths in the gardens and crickets in the fields.  Andrew is in my Kindergarten class, and while seeing your teacher outside of school can be strange (most of my students think I live in the classroom), he was happy to pose with his sisters and make his parents laugh when it was their portrait time.  Soo and Haesung have 3 amazing children with infectious laughs and mega-watt smiles. I am truly blessed by the families that come into my life. I cannot imagine a better way to spend my days!

Beautiful family photos at the philadelphia museum of art

It’s always amazing to me how much families change in just a year.  Children grow, bonds get stronger, 365 days of new memories are made.  One year ago, I photographed Stephanie, Brian, Drew, and  Owen (and Matthew) in the rolling fields of Valley Forge Park.  It’s one of those sessions I will never forget, for many reasons.  Mostly, I will never forget the bond and love this family shared.  This year’s session took place at the Philadelphia Art Museum, high above the urban jungle we call downtown.  We laughed our way down the rocky steps, and Owen ran his way back up, and licked ice cream as the sun finally set.  This family, right here, they’re pretty awesome and I am so glad to continue this experience with them! Giggles rolled through the fields and tall grasses as the sun hung low.  The Gebhart family held hands and laughed together, enjoying an evening out together.  I was fortunate enough to teach Kayla in Kindergarten last year, and I loved seeing her sparkling personality.  Not to be outdone, little brother Kurt told jokes and giggled deep belly laughs while making silly faces.  I am lucky, y’all.  Lucky to spend tiny moments with real families.  Lucky to capture their dynamic and see document their love. Main Line Family Photography | McCabe Family

Once in a blue moon, everything with a family shoot will line up- sweet personalities, adorable pets, lovely weather, and golden sun rays.  When everything falls into place, some of my favorite family moments are created.

Bryn Mawr Family Photography | Barnes Family

Noon sun is the absolute worst.  Seriously, ask any photographer and they will agree.  You will ALMOST never find me shooting midday unless I have to… or unless the cutest family asks last minute and it just so happens to be beautifully cloudy.  I sincerely believe that clouds are diffusers from Heaven.

The Barnes family was fortunate enough to have clouds and a sleepy town to shoot in.  We photographed their session on Memorial Day, and while all of Bryn Mawr was nursing a holiday hangover, we were gallivanting around this historic town.  With  posing in front of the old movie theater, crossing the walk in Beetles fashion, and all around laughs and giggles, this shoot is not one I will easily forget.
