Old City’s Washington Square Engagement Session | Chelsea and Travis | Philadelphia Engagement

engaged couple stroll through the streets of old city philadelphia during their engagement session

Philadelphia truly is a city of love.  I know, I know, it’s super cheesy to say, but just ask Chelsea and Travis!  As they strolled through Old City and Washington Square Park during their engagement session, there was nothing but love in the air.  An evening riddled with traffic (thanks to a visit from the VP) and the threat of storms ended up being the quiet, romantic night these two deserved.  As we walked through Old City and circled the Liberty Bell, the few people on the streets jumped out of our way or offered congratulations.

I’m beyond excited for Chelsea and Travis’ wedding this fall.  With Chelsea’s amazing sense of style (hello, all Anthro girls have impeccable style), and Travis’ ability to make Chelsea scrunch her nose when she laughs (seriously, the cutest), it’s bound to be one for thee books. The Farmhouse at Peoples Light Wedding | Carolyn and Nick | West Chester Wedding Photography

bride and groom run through the streets of west chester pennsylvaniaIt was supposed to rain…. like torrential downpours, all throughout West Chester and the Philadelphia Suburbs.  Carolyn, Nick, and I prepared for their summer wedding with umbrellas and boots, discovered covered areas for wedding portraits in downtown West Chester, and said a prayer or two.  As the morning of their wedding dawned, blue skies could be seen for miles.  To our amazement, the day was dry and overcast, and the rains came at the exact time the reception ended.

Honestly, rain on a wedding day isn’t the worst thing.  It’s inconvenient and bothersome, but there are plenty of ways to work around it!  And with the right attitude, it’s magical.  Carolyn and Nick brought their own blue skies with them.  Their joy was infectious, and I think Mother Nature caught it.

West Chester is one of my favorite places to shoot in general.  I’ve shot at Saint Agnes Parish before, and adore the high dark ceilings and moody stone steps.  There’s nothing quite like photographing a 20 person wedding party on a main street, but West Chester is one of the places to do it!  Motorists and pedestrians are only too happy to share in the festivities.

Carolyn and Nick celebrated with their friends and family at the Farmhouse at People’s Light and Theater.  The Farmhouse offers the perfect marriage of rustic charm and elegance.  Surrounded by fields and lush trees, there is never a shortage of photo locations.

Honestly, this blog post has taken me FOREVER because it has been so hard to narrow down photos.  The photos I take are more than just photos— they’re memories of time spent with people who are incredibly important to me.  There aren’t enough photos or words in the world to show my love for my couples!  Here’s a preview of this most wonderful day! Phoenixville Brewery Engagement Session | Carli + Jack | Philadelphia Engagement Photography

couple engagement session at roots down brewing company in Phoenixville PA

An ice cold beer, beautiful sunlight, and the most beautiful summer evening helped make Carli and Jack’s engagement session one of my favorites.  we started our evening at Roots Down Brewing Company in Phoenixville, PA, before hopping over to Valley Forge park to catch the sunset.  Roots Down let us roam free in the brewery, which happens to be an atmosphere I’ve never shot in before.  Carli and Jack toasted to their love, which is just about the cutest thing ever.  Jack always knows how to make Carli truly smile, and Carli always knows exactly how I want her to pose with Jack- except it’s not a pose for them- it’s natural.

After the brews were downed, we found ourselves strolling through sun kissed fields at Valley Forge Park.  A quick stop at my favorite abandoned green house and “hobbit door”, and it was a wrap.  I am so excited for this wedding next year!  It seems like a lifetime away, but I know it’ll be here before we know it.

First Korean Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia | Melody and Jordan | Ambler, PA, Wedding Photography

  1. Whether they were walking hand in hand, saying their “I Do’s”, or kissing under Melody’s Cathedral length veil, the radiant smiles never left Melody and Jordan’s faces.  Their beautiful Korean-Canadian-American wedding at the First Korean Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia was a ceremony that unite two people and the families that love and support them.  It was the perfect mix of tradition and progression for two people who met in a not so traditional way.

Our day began at the beautiful Camp Hill Estate in Fort Washington, PA.  You could get lost in the endless halls and rooms, each with its own charm.  The weather was most perfect, and jitters were minimal as Jordan turned to see Melody for the first time.  Families from across the world gathered as Melody and Jordan declared their love for one another, and advice and well wishes carried the bride and groom through the night.

I couldn’t be happier to have been able to share in this day with these two very special people! Continue reading “First Korean Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia | Melody and Jordan | Ambler, PA, Wedding Photography”

La Massaria at Bella Vista Wedding Photography | Laura and Mike | Gilberstville Wedding Photography

bridal details at la massaria at bella vista in Gilbertsville pa

The most dreamy orange sun hung low in the sky as Laura and Mike walked hand and hand towards the horizon at La Massaria at Bella Vista.  As their wedding day was wrapping up, they stepped away from the crowd of dancing loved ones and basked in the glow that surrounded them; the glow that makes your cheeks hurt from smiling; the glow of being just married.  I’m not a believer in perfection, but Laura and Mike and their wedding day— it was pretty close.

La Massaria at Bella Vista in Gilberstville was the perfect location for Mike and Laura’s ceremony and reception.  The rolling greens, the rustic barn wood and stone, and of course the amazing food (y’all, there was a potato bar with pierogies).  Soft details and pastel colors paired perfectly with the rustic setting.  As we were photographing details (and eating pierogies) I noted to Elizabeth that this was one of the smoothest weddings we had ever photographed.  Laura and Mike are so loving and calm and they didn’t seem to have a single nervous flutter about them.  We joked and laughed throughout the day and at times I forgot I was working.

I am so excited to wrap up this gallery.  Laura and Mike, thank you for having me photograph your day!  it was more than I could have dreamed of! Continue reading “La Massaria at Bella Vista Wedding Photography | Laura and Mike | Gilberstville Wedding Photography”
