Genuine Barn at Boone’s Dam Wedding | Ron and Brooke

A genuinely beautiful Barn at Boone’s Dam wedding. There is a reason I love photographing here! Not only is the food by Susquehanna Chef sublime, but the atmosphere is one of charm and elegance. I am lucky enough to shoot here a few times a year, and despite the trek to North East PA, I would do it in a heartbeat.

The Barn at Boone’s Dam in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, is the perfect wedding venue to escape into nature. Located next to a bumbling creek and open fields, you are more likely to find a local barn cat than people.

Ron and Brooke had their May wedding at the Barn, and it was perfect. Despite a little rain right as the ceremony began, this cloudy day led to some breathtaking moments. Ron and Brooke opted for a traditional wedding. Catching their reactions as Brooke walked out of the barn was a highlight of my day. The slightest drizzle began as guests took their seats and Brooke walked down the aisle towards Ron. Fortunately, there was so much joy and beauty happening in that moment, I don’t believe anyone noticed. By the time a kiss was exchanged, the rain had stopped, and guests were ready to celebrate with the happy couple.

So how do you achieve a genuine wedding as gorgeous as Ron and Brooke? Keep it natural, keep it simple, and let the beauty of the day speak for itself. Ron and Brook choose the most incredible team of vendors and charming styles for their day. Brookes stunning lace dress was highlighted by her delicate flowers that packed a punch of color. They used plenty of lush greens and gentle sparkles, yet kept things fun for guest with lawn games and epic late night snacks.

Upper Merion Christ Church Wedding | Clair and Philip | Philadelphia Wedding Photography

Clair and Philip are pure joy.  From the minute our day began, they radiated.  Clair and Philip had their ceremony and reception at the historic Christ Church in Upper Merion.  It’s a hidden gem located in Bridgeport, with the highway suspended in the air nearby.  The old sanctuary has a warm glow and well worn pews which creak as curious heads turn to watch the bride.  The reception hall is a blank canvass.  Clair and Philip, with the help of their families, opted for a DIY wedding, and their romantic and airy theme was perfect for this hall.

If I am being honest, I cry at every wedding.  And it’s not pretty.  How can I help it, though?  Weddings are BEAUTIFUL.  A true celebration of life and love and family.  I usually spend a year communicating with my couples.  I discover their favorite TV shows, how many pets they have, and the fears and excitements about getting married.  And then I witness their hard work pay off on their wedding day.  It’s hard not to be invested.

However, I have never cried more at a wedding than at Philip and Clair’s in July.  The tears started flowing the moment Clair and her father shared a first look, continued through Clair’s perfectly timed grand entrance, and into the night as the couple slow danced with stars in their eyes.

As a vendor, I must say that I am biased in thinking that I have the best couples ever.  But it’s hard not to believe that when they treat you with such love and warmth.  Clair and Philip, it was a joy and an honor to be a part of your day.  Wishing you the very best in your lifetime of happiness!
